A fun race, which starts “Le Mans” style from the beach, then a simple course around the most suitable mark for the conditions and ends with helms or crew running back to the beach wall.

The Round the Harbour Islands Trophy is raced over a highish tide and traditionally takes in Brownsea, Green and Furzey Islands left to port or starboard, depending on winds, tides and commercial ship movements on the day.

This course is perfect for those children who have never sailed before and for those who may have a basic understanding of sailing or maybe have completed a Stage 1 Course.

This course will follow the RYA syllabus for Sailing with Spinnakers, we strongly recommend that you have at least RYA Level 2, or a good knowledge of how to sail before you do this course.

The course will be run in our Hartley 15s, and teaches you the important skills of how to hoist, fly and drop a spinnaker.

This course is perfect for those children who have completed stage 2 and are looking for the next step in there sailing. This course is a big step in your child's sailing, we often see children needing to attend this course a couple of times before they receive there certificate.

This is a fun filled day for youth, 9am to 5pm at Poole Yacht Club.

2 teams of 10 under 18 sailors will throw the two Elan 333s about in close quarters combat. The format is match racing where boats joust with each other to gain the upper hand pre-start and then try to dominate the other team through the race. It is best of 5 to decide the winner. Once the match is over the teams and supporters retire for prize giving, thank yous and lunch for the crews.
