Assistant Instructor Programme

A new initiative for 2022, this course is aimed at those who want to convert their sailing passion into becoming an instructor.

We ask that anyone considering doing this course has previously completed seamanship skills as a minimum and preferably has turned, or is turning, 16 in 2022. This course isn't just for the youth, if you think you would like to become an instructor get involved. If in doubt please speak to AJ, who can help direct you.

The programme will last all season, and we aim to get all Assistant Instructors (AI's) ready for their Dinghy Instructor Course. This will include all the pre-requisites needed (First Aid, PB2, Pre-Entry Training etc). If possible we will also host a Pre-Entry and Dinghy Instructor Course at the club.

We will need all AI's to assist at Wednesday Night Youth Training and we will aim to run a training day once a month. We have not set a price for the course as it will depend on numbers and what training is needed on an individual basis.
