Poole Yacht Club Slow Handicap

The handicap fleet is based around all sailors, and abilities.

There is a huge variety of boats available and not everyone at Poole Yacht Club wish to sail a fleet hosted by the club.
So for those who wish to sail boats outside of the Club's fleets, the Handicap Fleet exists.

We welcome young and old, entry level to world champions. We have a few national sailors, a European champion and some advancing from last years adult learners group wishing to partake in regular racing.

We are approachable and all help with slipway etiquette and launching each other.

The handicap system is run under a py rating click here for a listings of numbers to assist in finding your rating.
if you boat is not here don’t panic we also run personal handicaps so every member get the chance of a prize.

Racing is regular but some of us meet to sail other days or evenings where tide and weather suits. We have good friendly attitudes and would love to see new members for sailing, cruising and socials. We all have a varied experience and not answer is left un-answered with our strong in depth knowledge on and of the water. Many members also help within the adult and junior training events so you will see some usual faces and suspects.
