Rowers and suitable craft wanted for

The Great River Race - London's River Marathon on September 25th.

-----------------------------------

The trip to Portsmouth Historic Dockyard was blessed with a bright sunny day with everyone having an enjoyable if somewhat exhausting day. (all of those ships ladders and lack of headroom) The trip around the harbour was enjoyed on the open deck by most us, although we did feel for the crew of the steam pinnance that was circulating the harbour as they were exposed to the chilling breeze with no protection.

--------------------------------

The Beale Park Boat Show was blessed with good weather and those that went had a relaxing and informative day.  It was good to see the gig that we had seen in build at Lyme Regis a couple of years ago in it finished state.

----------------------------------

Yesterdays waterborn quiz/treasure hunt attracted 6 boats with differing numbers of crew who spent two hours plus moving about the harbour in search of answers.  The weather was splendid and everyone seem to have a good time many only just returning in time for the BBQ.  Thirty members were present for the food which was enjoyed on the lower terrace in the delightful warmth of the evening.
