In partnership with Poole Harbour Commissioners an anemometer has been installed on the transit post some 300 metres South West of the Race Hut in open water, and an integrated sensor suite has been sited within the haven.
Wind, barometric pressure, temperature, solar radiation, rain, and other measurements are transmitted over wireless links to a Davis Vantage Pro console based in the Race Hut, where a display keeps Race Officers well informed of current conditions. The data is retransmitted to a PC in the club house,and thence on to the Internet.
There is also a display in the club lounge which bears all the information a sailor will need.
