Racing Volunteering 2017

The club relies on the generosity, sense of community and skills of its members to produce the experience that Poole Yacht Club is famous for.
If you would like to help make the club even better, while working with a team of like minded people, please use the form below to volunteer to help with the 2017 racing season!

For those of you that are new to dutyman or would like a refresher, there will be a mini how to session at the Volunteer briefing night on 7 March 2017 at 7:30pm if you would like to get a quick demonstration on how to use dutyman.

The club is very grateful to all those who put their time in volunteering and enable the club to provide the extensive racing calendar each year.

RYA RIB Challenge

The RYA (Royal Yachting Association) National Championship in Rigid Inflatable Boats (RIBs) for juniors/youths (8-12 years and 13-16 years).

The competition takes the form of a time trial around a set of marks - the fastest time wins. The slalom buoys are set 12.5m apart so that skill and control, and not necessarily speed, are the most important factors. Each competitor has two runs, one as a practice and one as a 'hot lap'. Both runs are timed and the fastest time put forward.

The winner from each age group will go through to the national final at the Southampton Boat Show on Sunday, 25th September 2016, with a chance to win a RIB for their club!

Registration is required to enter.

Registered competitors should enroll at 9:00am in the acedemy room.

The RYA will again run a National Championship in Rigid Inflatable Boats (RIBs) for juniors/youths
